Perhaps you heard through the grapevine that I left my staff position at Abrams. I'm still working on some projects with them and am possibly going to be doing some work with another publisher of really beautiful books. So, hopefully, we'll be able to work on more books or other projects together.
Basically, I left because I wanted to take time to take time to rest/wander/breathe/explore, to think about the things I've always wanted to do and see if I can make some happen: spend more time in the garden, learn Adobe Illustrator, take a class at RISD, travel to India and Japan, learn how to set up a tent, and on and on. I am not retiring from work. That is not realistic or even what I want to do. But I am taking some time to figure out how to live better and not always feel like I'm being chased by email and deadlines.
